Hello Midnight pulling fans.
It has been a hot weekend of pulling and temperatures. It was a very good points weekend.
Saturday we headed to Fairfield, Illinois for a PPL Champions Tour event. When we got there it was hot. Everyone was trying to stay cool. There was 14 in the class. I hooked third from last. Jared was leading and had made an excellent pass. I knew that I would have to have a good pass to even get close. We came close we were .7 short. He went 334.91 and I went 334.21.
we ended up second and I was very pleased with the finish.
On to the next stop Terre Haute, Indiana for a PPL Midwest Regional Event. The Action Track brought back many memories. I had been there several times to watch USAC races there from the infield and the grandstands What a great track we had. I was second hook. I followed Tony Tatum. After Tony's pull the track crew changed the sled. That made me first hook. I went 350+ ft, they decided to change the sled again. I dropped to last. Mark Austin was in the lead and Dale Nelson was in second. I came back, made my pass and ended up third.
On to the next stop Nashville IL for a ITPA show. I got to be first hook. The track was good. I missed my weight. I needed a little more on the front. I ended up 5th. Overall we had a good points weekend. I will take a top 5 every night for the points race.
We are off for a couple of days then off to Arthur Il and Taylorville Il on Thursday and Friday for ITPA shows.
As always thanks for checking in to the blog and remember Hammer Down.
